Knocked out my progressive long run this morning and my legs are definitely feeling it now. The plan called for 6.5 miles but I ended up with just under 7, which I'll take as a win two weeks into this marathon block. Started with a nice easy 1.5 miles to wake up the legs, then clicked through three structured segments at 6.3, 6.5, and 6.8 mph. That last 1.5 mile push at 6.8 was brutal—my watch kept buzzing at me to slow down but I stuck with it. The hills around here don't mess around, and even though Strava says 0m elevation (which seems wrong?), my quads are telling a different story.
Finished in 64:11 at a 5:48/km average pace, then cooled down for the final half mile. These progressive runs are quickly becoming my favorite workout because you get that satisfying burn without completely destroying yourself. Still figuring out pacing for the longer efforts, but two weeks in and I'm feeling strong. Ten more weeks until race day.
