I dragged myself out the door at 6:15 this morning for what turned out to be a surprisingly solid Wednesday run. Covered 4.85km in just under 25 minutes, which put me at a 5:04/km pace – definitely faster than my usual easy morning shuffle. My heart rate averaged 158 bpm, so I was working harder than I initially thought. The route was fairly flat with only 37 meters of elevation gain, which probably helped me maintain that pace without feeling completely destroyed.

The morning air was perfect – cool enough that I wasn't drenched in sweat by kilometer two. My legs felt surprisingly fresh considering I've been on my feet a lot this week. I knocked out 375 calories according to my watch, and honestly, I'm already thinking about breakfast. These sub-25-minute runs before work are becoming my favorite way to start the day, even when the alarm goes off and I want to throw my phone across the room.
